Though there are a few seams on the terrain where the man walks.
It doesn't seem to happen when I'm running it on a lower resolution so I'll just blame my gfx card(s3).
Well if you have an S3 you ALWAYS have to blame your graphics card =)
nice pjvdg :)
thx
I got a new one, you can see it @ http://edev.blogspot.com
even better :)
what software do u use to create graphics like that?
Almost everything with 3dsmax r3 (the mountains, spaceship)...
Sombody else does the models(their in a quake2 format)...
But allot of it depends on the textures you are using...
mmm.. used to create stuff with 3dStudio back in the good old days :)
It was hell to learn, but I still remember the good feeling when I actually managed to make a flic :)
Is it hard to learn the 3dStudioMax ? (haven't tested it)
Not really, you can quickly start using it. The interface is simple and you can immediatly see what the most important functions do.
And their more than enough books on the subject so it's not really hard.
does it cost a lot ?
think the old 3dStudio was expensive (not that I ever got to buying it :) )
Normally I wasn't able to pay it(it costs more then a new computer!) but I got lucky that somebody got a 3ds max from his company(why, I can't understand), so I could buy his version really cheap.
mm.. was afraid it would be expencive :)
I heard 'maya' is quite good and it should be allot cheaper than 3d studio max
But I also heard that they were making a lite version of 3d studio max and possible give it out for free(I don't know if this is true)....
a lite version of 3d studio max would be excelent!
animations I want to make are never to advanced... will u let me know if u hear anything on that issue ?
I checked the site but couldn't find anything but I stumbled on this:
http://www.amabilis.com/products.htm
A free 3d modeller that looks quite impressive...
And only 18mb.
I'll check it out tommorow, getting sleepy now(it's 22:47 here).
Cheers
thanks mate,
me to(sleepy 24:00  )
see ya around
Check out http://www.povray.org/ for a free OpenSource Industry standard rendering program ;) Lots of people say that it is better then 3dsmax's renderer
Their are many freeware 3d modeling programs available at http://www.downloads.com /
'Blender' is a very advanced 3d modeling program. hard to learn, but it dose to everything Maya, or 3dsmax can do.
(Linux/BSD binarys too!!)
http://www.blender.nl/
nifty :D :D
look at this... the url I mentioned above(http://www.amabilis.com/products.htm) is a 3d modeller made in Visual Basic, but it is a bit too slow(for my p233)...
It does have a nice interface...
