Urgent***

Hey All,

I ordered a book on SQL SERVER 2000 a few days ago, and lately I've been searching for hosting packages and most of them only support mySQL.

If I learn MS SQL SERVER 2000, will I automatically know mySQL?
Are sql server databases the same as mysql?
Are there graphical tools to set up mysql from sql server and access?

can i get sql server 2000 hosting somewhere, with asp, unlimited traffic and webspace?

As far as I know, MySQL and MSSQL are basically the same thing.

I only learnt MSSQL and I have never run into problems between MSSQL and any other Database so it should be fine...

Yip, they're very similar. They both follow the same standard SQL specification, just added their own extra code to the specific programs, but all underlying SQL programs work off the same spec.

I have the MS book on ADO, and that's the best I've seen on the subject. To be honest, SQL won't be too difficult as long as you're not using an as/400 :rolleyes:

To tell the truth, I was going to get a wrox book, but I wanted the trial version of sql server, and wrox books don't come with the cd.

MS SQL and MySQL are like American English and British English.

Just when you think everything is perfectly understood, you get a nasty surprise.
