Anyone from Crawley: THAT'S MORE LIKE IT LADS!
Is anyone in here from Crawley in Sussex? I left there as a lad about 35 years ago- have been back a couple of times but not since the late 80's. Just wondered how the old place was doing?
I was born in Langley Green, later lived in Northgate. My Dad worked for Redifon (now Rediffusion Simulation) in Manor Royal who to this day are leaders in making flight simulators (real ones), and I went to "Our Lady Queen of Heaven" school.
Or anyone from thereabouts???

My father-in-law currently works for these people - they split into Redifon and Rediffusion, and he still works for the Redifon part.
Apart from that, all I know of Crawley is Tillgate Park. They've got a few animals there that my kids like to go and gawp at.
Oh, and the rest of Crawley is covered in concrete.

Well, have him ask around of any old timers if they remember my Dad. His name was (still is, in fact) Fred. You'll never guess what they nicknamed him.
Oh, you did.
Yeah, Hovis.
I was 8 then, thought that was quite funny. Mind you, the nuns down "Our Lady Queen of Heaven" weren't exactly renouned for their humour.

Hey, am I the closest VB Forums member to Crawley? I'm living and working in Horsham (10 miles).
By the way, my current employer is looking for a junior developer 20+ hours per week, salary in the region of £15k. VB.NET, ASP, SQL Server. Is there anyone local who is interested? Reply to me through VB Forums private message.

My only question is why would a Hall of Fame running back and Hollywood actor care about Crawley?

This is one of the most subtle but overpowering fails I've seen this year.

Not nearly as the failure of this thread to just die and rest in peace... But yeah, I'd put it in the top 10 for the year so far.

Re: Anyone from Crawley: THAT'S MORE LIKE IT LADS!
The last time I tried reviving a thread that was as old as this some moderator stepped in(I don't know who) and unrevived it along with eliminating my post.
Re: Anyone from Crawley: THAT'S MORE LIKE IT LADS!
I got an email saying someone had responded to this thread, so I decided to see why.
I don't think I'm any the wiser for looking.
