Why have we returned to black avatars?

Is this a protest measure or something?

Or maybe as a "moment of mourning" type thing?

I was about to release my new w00t avatar, but now it's black.

the new one is attached. how do you like it?

Personally avatar was against moderation, however i think the black avatar is quite appropriate at the moment.
