Flash detect function

Dear all,

Question: does anyone know how to write a VB function that detects whether the user has the macromedia flash ocx installed? I'd like to use it to write some conditional logic: display a flash splashscreen if it is installed, display a static screen if it is not. I wouldn' be averse to a function that used standard error trapping, if someone could show me how to use it.

There are many instances of doing this in html; unfortunately, I don't know the first thing about HTML.
