Can you see it in your BIOS? If not, your mobo might not support it.
I can check it in the BIOS. I need to look at it when I'm working.
1.4ghz AMD Tbird
Asus A7A266 mobo
Thank you.............!
 (this is Chit Chat, my post incrementer doesn't increment :D)
I have a program who came with my computer ( with my mother chip) and that said the temperature of the computer. Each time I play a game the temperature jump to 114 ºC and when I stop all it came back to 45ºC. Well, I checked and both of my fan work well and my computer still jump in temperature like that....Is that normal?
That sounds like the issue I'm having......
I'm running Win XP Pro... When I play Tropico my computer starts going BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP and I have to turn the system off....
People have said that it is my sound or video card drivers.......
I'm going to load Win 2K and see if I have the same issue.
If you have an Athlon, this may be possible. Athlons tend to run _very_ hot, especially if overclocked. If you do want to overclock, or even run reliably on a high-end Athlon, I recommend a good copper heatsink. I use the Gladiator heatsink, but there are better ones.Quote:

One thing to remember tho, Athlon only recommends heatsinks up to 300 grams so that the socket is not pulled off the board and/or to keep the processor die from breaking. My heatsink is 330 grams and I haven't had any problems, but there are a couple out there that can way as much as 600 grams.
Texas - the beeping could well be your BIOS warning that something's overheated or a fan has stopped working. There should be some warning settings in the BIOS, which you can play with to see what you're getting warned about.
It depends what kind of beep it is of course. BIOS beeps come from the internal speaker. If it's coming from your speakers through your soundcard, then it's probably a software thing.
I kicked my lil sound box on my mainboard it stopped beeping :))

It is kind of "in" now to reply in dead old threads. Lets pull up the TOP 10 oldest Chit Chat threads?
How about "The" first thread ever posted by a member who is a non moderator and non administrator in VBForums.
Yup, it is there and easy to pull up just by replying. It seems kind of dork though.
