Jackson Rd., Jackson, MI. The Dahlem Environmental Education Center is an outdoor laboratory for school field trips, public programs and workshops. Its trails and grounds are available to all who enjoy exploring the natural world. The Center is located on a 300 acre natural area. It is funded, managed and operated by the Dahlem Conservancy, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. The Conservancy’s mission is to provide environmental education and land conservancy services for the residents of south central Michigan. This group has been nice enough to invite us in to place caches, and even hold geocaching 101 classes. So come on out and enjoy one of Jackson Counties best kept secrets. Open 9am to sunset. The park was great especially for the kids until they spotted the snakes. This nature center was really nice. The trails were good and we saw lots of wildlife along the way. We could still hear the loud birds off in the distance too. This is a very nice nature center. We'd heard that another winter storm was approaching tonight (and today was remarkably warm and pretty - especially for February in Michigan), so we made a special trip out here on a Sunday afternoon. We'd previously found the first three caches in the series (some time in the fall) and had been itching to come back for the rest. Today was the day. Thanks so much for a very thoughtful series of caches in a beautiful area. We took a few items here and there (bracelet, small game) and left goodies, as appropriate (action figures, cute pins, etc.) TFTCs! The pathtag in this cache really made our day. 2010-01-23T20:00:00Z Found it Rockin Roddy I was led to the wrong side of the trail while KAboom went right to it! D'OH, now I'm a bit sorry I gave him his own PN-40??!!!?? All the same, we are having a great time and that's the most important thing (I told KAboom I had already spotted it and was just letting hm make the find so he wasn't grumpy I was making all the find LMAO). Getting near the very back of the park now, still a bit further to go though...NICE!! Got this one back in place and ready for cachers. The walk out here is harder with the snow on the trails so give yourself extra time and take it easy. There are benches along the trails you can stop for a while at. Even in winter take water with you! The first time I notched it up to the muggles in the area and being unable to really look around. But, today I got to look around for about an 1 1/2 hours and was still not able to locate this one.
