Angry Did this ever happen to you?

I have a microsoft word document with 1,518 KB. I delete the last page and the size of the file increases! How can this be possible?

I saved under a diferent name and, instead of being 1,518 KB, its 288 KB!!!

    I'm using Word 97

    like access
    if you delete all records
the size still remains the same

look for a compression option in word..
access gives you the right size after you compress it

Always disable Fast Saves It's not much slower and ensures you have the smallest file possible. Alternatively, use text files...

Or go down the local brothel for a root

The page you have deleted, is only flagged as deleted, hence the size increase for the flagging.

Yes, and this is done so you can undo that delete. If you save it to a new file name, it "forgets" the revision history. Since you can't undo the delete, then it permantely removes anything flagged for deletion.

Sorry but I always thought 288 was less than 1518!

That happens if you stop rubbing it, or well, if you rub it too briskly
