Is this Half Life business any good?
I haven't played a game for a while, the last one was Kingpin (great!)

Half Life is great! It's about the only game (or series of games) being played at our LAN Party apart from some odd Q3 nuts...

There's a SOF sequel on the way, using the Quake 3 engine (no idea what the first was). Have you seen any screenshots of Max Payne? Damn that looks good. I don't mean the gameplay, I have no idea, just the models for the characters.

Check it.
Course, Tribes 2 is out now. Should be good. Never played the original myself though. I don't play FPS games much, I play UT (and the Tactical Ops mod) every now and again, but the only FPS games I've ever really got into were Duke 3D and Duke: Time To Kill. Actually, the Time To Kill's 3rd person, but you know what I mean

Cooooooooool .... I just watched the latest movie available for download, the gunfight style really reminds me of the lobby scene in the Matrix.

Looks pretty cool, the style reminds me of Duke 3D (which is a good thing ). Also it's nice to see a commercial game that uses OpenGL other than the Quake series. A lot of games only support D3D, or they only do a little OGL support. UT's OpenGL support is really awful.

Just watched the Duke Nukem Forever trailer from E3, looks pretty damn good =) Pretty varied, seems like there are a few points in the game where you use vehicles and gun emplacement
