It's a new wave called Virtual Diplomacy. Soon all embassies will be closed and everything will be handled through Facebook. When you want to get a Visa you attach all the documents to your friend request. And if the country accepts you as a friend that means you got the Visa and you can do. There will be no passports either. When you get to the border you give them your account ID, and if you're in the friend list you can enter.

Some countries also need a DNA sample and your finger prints. I suppose the finger prints are easy, considering that most keyboards come equipped with a finger print scanner.

Only works if you have some kind of cells in your spit. Like cheek cells. So its plausible.
