I am trying to make a Magnifying Glass effect over an image. I would like to do it in Flash though I have to look at other options that are compatible such as JavaScript.

    Any ideas?

The Milky Bars are on me!

My sentiments exactly Behemoth. I want to use that effect in a who's who.... I think that it would look really interesting with that.

Still a bit sleepy, and a bus soaked me as it drove through a MASSIVE puddle.

I thought that stuff only happened in cartoons..!

No there are just some people who seem to find it funny to soak people as they are walking....

But the magnifying thing is good!

I have just found out that the JavaScript Magnifying glass doesn't work with the Flash movie I am making, but funnily enough, the Flash one does (duh!)

Very, very D'oh! I got the JavaScript one to work last night (just!). It was not reacting well. But I asked a question on actionscripts.org forum and fixed it as best as it can be.

Chris, can I make a request?

I'd be really grateful if you could point me in the direction of a "Beginner's Actionscript" tutorial. I'm a bit dim and struggle with javascript and actionscript, but I'm going to need a bit more knowledge than I currently have.

    thanks in advance.

Beginners ActionScript.... Join the club, I am also learning! It works in the same way as JavaScript but with some parts that look like ASP.. The bast bet is to go to www.actionscripts.org

They have some beginner stuff. Also there is a great book out called Begginers ActionScript that can be bought at Amazon.co.uk.

Personally I am going to wait till O'Reilly release their ActionScript Book because they are generally very good.

Other than that I think that we should learn from each other... What do you say Behemoth?

Don't worry so am I... I also just posted on Forum Feedback about the possibility of an ActionScript bit ,but I think that because www.actionscripts.org exists then theyt might just say no.

What I will do is when I get home I will get some free space somewhere (I don't care where).. preferably without Ads. Then start putting work on there.... I will give you FTP access if you like Behemoth.. That way we can refer to a certain part and learn in that way.. Hows that?

You might want to get an upgrade to Flash 5 because it is better for ActionScript than Flash 4...... (though that is only a suggestion as it costs a bloody fortune!)

It has a completely unrelated name:

    www.studio184.com

I now need some free webspace with no ads.... any ideas?

    Does it have any ads?

I know that is a big thing, because generally free space always has ads!

I think that the site was: www.freewebspace.net, not the .com.

Though I hope that I find the site I am looking for. Could anyone help me find some free space?
