Oscar Nominations.
I'm going for Inglurious Basterds.
Even though it could have been better if Tarantino cut down the film (I really don't care about obscure German film references or the extended dialogue between the Nazi sniper and the French Jewish girl).
The movie was great (especially the basement scene), and the spots of black humor were hilarious.
The acting was also terrific from almost everyone. You can tell from watching the actors eyes, subtle expressions and nervous moves, that they really had the roles and mental states down. Tarantino is a great actor's director.

Re: Oscar Nominations.
I thought Incontinent Bastards was the most bizarre film I have seen in decades, and not in a good way. I normally like Tarantino's work, and there was some good acting in that movie, but it was a series of disjointed set pieces only loosely tied together. He basically created a series of scenes so that the actors could act, then showed them in some sequence so that it could appear to be a single movie rather than a series of sketches. He also re-wrote history for no discernible reason. Why was it important to the movie that WWII have a totally different ending than the one it actually had?

What I don't get is why do people actually care about all these Hollywood awards like the Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes, etc.? They are nothing more than a series of excuses for a bunch of overpaid preening actors to congratulate each other for being rich and famous.

Yes, they should be called the "Oh my god aren't we all fabulous" awards.
Generally Awards shows make me sick, they are basically a popularity contest, and have very little to do with the quality of the performances.

I normally don't like Tarantula's work and think it's a pile of overrated crap (wow, it's from the Qmaster, it must be teh awsum lol). But now I will watch I.B. and might likely get disappointed, or I might like it a lot.

Re: Oscar Nominations.
My bets are:
1> Sandra Bullock or Meryl Streep - Best Actress
2> Avatar for Visual Effects.
3> Actor in supporting role - Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds)

District 9 for best movie.
Sure Avatar has all the effects but District 9 has got to be one of the most original ideas in a long time.

No way in hell district 9 is taking an oscar. Besides that the movie was utter crap.

Christoph Waltz, "Inglourious Basterds" [WINNER]
Sandra Bullock, "The Blind Side" [WINNER]
"Avatar" [WINNER]
Wow. All three of my predictions came right. This means the Academy Awards are turning out to be completely predictable.
