Microsoft's attitude towards its customers

Having just read about yet *another* e-mail virus that exploits "holes" in Outlook, I want to know why the hell we allow Microsoft to be so damn lame.

Any other company would have gone out of business years ago if they released such buggy, badly coded, ill-thought out, untested, half-arsed crap.

How dare they assume it is ok for all Windows users to constantly watch their back in case some idiot has found yet another hole in their damn software. Why the hell should I go to Windows Update and f***k about for ages downloading patches to things which should have been tested in the first place?!?! AND WHAT IS WITH ALL THESE F***KING SERVICE PACKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's bloody outrageous and anyone who has seen South Park, Bigger Longer and Uncut will know exactly what I think we should do to that bloated bint.

The reason people let outlook be so bad is because they were the first internet email system. That software went to the thousands of people that already had hotmail. So many people quickly accepted it.
As for windows....It is a big program, and they do a good job with what time they make it in.

Is it so unreasonable to want to open Word whilst IE is showing a web page?? I don't think so, yet I can't in fear of the Blue Screen of Death. It's simply unacceptable. I pay $$$ for something, I would like it to work. Is that so much to ask?

I don't pay £££ for something and don't expect it to work...which is just as well

I've never actually had any problems with Outlook at all, but that's probably because I don't go randomly opening email attachments

The problem isn't with MS, it's with human stupidity.

All other OS' (contrary to po ular belief) have just as many porblems and are just as hackable. The only reason MS' seem so big is becuase they are the only ones that get the press becuase they are such a large corporation. Plus 95% of MS bashers do so beucase they have brain washed by linux folks and the media.

and as parksie said, if you are dumb enough to keep opening attachments even though youve been warned numerous times, you deserve to have your system wipped out.

I have a go at everything...I complain about Windows because it's unstable and buggy. I complain about Linux because it's a b***h to set up and use, plus there's very little software for it. I complain about MacOS because there's no command line.

I haven't been brainwashed........I hate it all!

It's lucky I don't then isn't it...

My main complaint is with Windows and the IE integration. That is "buggy, badly coded, ill-thought out, untested, half-arsed crap".

When it gets to the stage you cannot open something even slightly sizeable with IE open, it gets pretty darn annoying.

The reason why we let them be so lame is that we (more or less) average users don't have a choice. Of course, there is MacOS, Linux and all that, but face it, how many of us (still, more or less average users) have the skill to make linux work or will struggle with incompatabilities of a MacOS? Of course, many people who participate in the conversations in this forum happen to HAVE the skill, but think about the 95% (or more) of PC users who really don't have the time or even more often the skill to face this kinda stuff, and just have to get their stuff done. About all of us would rather use something else than windows and other microsoft software ( /crap) if asked, as would I, but I certainly don't know how to set up linux (or don't want to try anyway

) or want to stop using most of my programs because MacOS doesn't happen to support them.

I have to work on my organization, but you probably got the picture.

For further arguing the topic of good and bad points of OS's, there should be a thread about that in recent history. Although I think it's in the general vb questions forum...

And PS I love british expressions such as bloody hell and so forth.

A lot of people bash Microsoft around when they get the BSOD (not that I mind). Its actually been proven that 57% of the time its because of a hardware conflict. If you still want to ***** and moan, install linux. Learn it the hard way and then you'll appreciate the easy day's of learning windows!

Anyway. Down with microsoft. Kill all MS products and install Linux!

Well some of their programs have a nice touch to the user interface (like those controls that are 2D but change to 3D upon mouse rollover).

Earlier you said your IE crashed? At least yours still works. My IE complains that the windows INet extensions are incorrect and here I am... Typing away(With a VB browser I made)... What the h***, eh???

Yes, but it crashes all the time!!!. In the past hour I have been using this machine, Explorer has crashed when IE was open (I was trying to view the contents of C:, but Win said OH NO YOU'RE NOT, BYE BYE). IE also crashed when I selected Tools, Internet Options. Blue screen galore, Kernel32 busted, nuclear warhead approaching...so that's 2 restarts in little over an hour, which in my mind is NOT ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR

LINUX ----> Meh... Some LINUX servers have been reported to run a whole year non-stop, no reboot. NOW THAT'S AMAZING!!!

Basically, its just like any other place. Our public transport isn't as good as you'd find in England (unless you wish to risk your life catching a taxi), crime is high, prices are high etc. We also having shopping malls and stuff. Don't really know how I can explain it further!

You have Bulb Version 3.1. Sorry, we no longer support Bulb Version 3.1, you have to buy Bulb 95. It is far superior but does basically the same thing. To upgrade to Bulb 95 you must keep Bulb 3.1 in the socket, and cover it badly with Bulb 95.
