VS2010 Beta 2

Hey,

Anyone tried the new beta yet? I must say it has improved over the first beta, but I'm still not impressed. The main reason is that it simply seems to be slow... It's probably the WPF part that is not optimized (yet..?), but the code editor especially just seems laggy. The one thing I've always liked very much about the Visual Studio code editor is that it was lightning fast and had no lag whatsoever (at least once the Intellisense has loaded etc). Other editors always seemed to be behind on that part, generally being just laggy and slow. But now, it seems VS2010 is going the same way...

In VS2008 and 2005 as far as I can remember, if you press a character on the keyboard, it appears instantly on the screen. Now, there is a noticeable delay! It seems that everytime you type the editor is trying to update many pointless drawing operations, like selecting the current word your typing... Not very useful and even distracting if you're just trying to select a single letter (to delete it if you made a typo for example). The whole word's background is changed to a color nearly the same as the selection highlight so it occured a few times that I thought I was actually selecting the whole word instead of just the single letter...
