I'm not sure where to but this but does this forum have a back up policy? A policy of backing up images or other useful attachments accompanying threads on the forum.
I was just wondering because I joined the forum nearly 7 years ago and made several posts years ago which included pictures to explain problems or solutions.
Will those files disappear from the threads if I delete them from my photobucket account?
Thanks,
Nightwalker

Did you actually attach the pictures here, or just link to them (using IMG tags)?

The majority of files were stored here but a few were not. I noticed a while ago that the attachments here have their own area in the user control panel, where the user modifies them etc. I was looking at the files I had uploaded here and saw that one or two of them no longer had the delete button available if I want to delete them. Why would this be?

Where are those attachments stored if the delete option is no longer accessible?

You can attach many types of files here (I think up to 5 files per post), including pictures - and if you attach only one picture file it is automatically displayed at the bottom of your post (as in Nightwalker83's post, where he also used IMG tags to show it).
To add an attachment, click on "Post Reply" (or "Go Advanced"), then under the typing area click "Manage Attachments", and a new window will pop up.
If you want to try it out, feel free to post in our Forum Test Area.

I don't have access to the database so can't check fully, but the post (and attachment) seem to be perfectly valid - and (because I'm a Super Moderator) I've got the normal options for editing the post, including the ability to remove the file.
It appears to be just an issue with the screen you showed, but I have no idea why that would happen.

Ah, I thought that the system might do that automatically every few years after an attachment has been uploaded for back up purposes.
Edit:
I think the ability to delete attachments disappears if the thread has been locked/closed.
