Question Advice needed - Which route to take?

    Hi,

I learned VB6 during a university course, but now I want to learn more. I want to be able to make small applications based on databases to solve problems at work. I work as an office temp and constantly come across problems that I could solve, had I the relevant experience.

I've seen several things I could get my teeth into, but I want to know which to choose. Here are my options:

    1. Learn Access
    2. Learn VB6 ADO
    3. Learn VB.NET

I don't want to pursue one of the options until I'm sure it's the right one. I don't want to start learning something that isn't widely used anymore. I prefer to have more freedom over the look of the application than Access allows, so I would prefer either option 1 or 2.

    Can anyone offer any advice?

Well since VB6 is technically stuff, i would start to learn VB.NET. It is a pretty easy transition, in my opinion.
