There would have to be a very good reason to delete a post as post info is vluable to others that are searching for a solution to a problem that you have posted on.

Why would you need to delete "all" posts? If the reason is too sensitive to post in public then perhaps a PM to any member of the Mod staff would be better but not a guarentee.

No mate, it isn't. Anything that you post to this website is public information, can be reproduced by Jupitermedia, and can be found by anybody.

Before posting, everyone should consider who might read it in the future.

Sorry, but as the AUP states, what is posted to the form remains there. These are the forum rules you agree to upon registering for the forum, and the welcome e-mail the forum sends also warns users not to post anything they do not wish search engines to find, for this very reason. I'm afraid that's the best we can do.

Ususally within 24 hours of posting something to a public site, it is copied and cached by most major search engines. As such, even if you delete it from the original place you posted it, copies of the material can often still be found on the web.

Bottom line - don't ever post anything on the Web you don't want seen in the public domain unless you have it behind a login system or on a server you control.

What is it you're trying to hide and for what reason?

Re: how to delete all my posts

I wanted to delete one of my posts as I combined it with the previous one. The Edit button's tooltip in the forum for my posts says you can delete your post, but I cannot see how. I tried both quick and advanced edit but could not find how. The forum's FAQ also says that you can, but it says that you do this by editting your post (same as the tooltip), which is obviously not correct.

I think these should be corrected if users are not to be allowed to delete their posts.

I wish i could just merge multiple posts, but I guess I'll just have to learn how to do this correctly. I am new to these forums anyway.

Re: how to delete all my posts

in your case it may be a simple matter of needing more posts. I'm able to delete my posts, in fact I took out a duplicated post of mine earlier. So it's possible, it just might be that you are in "probationary" status or something.

Actually it was changed a while ago, I think you now need to be a PowerPoster (2000+ posts).

Explaining that in the forum usage FAQs would be a good idea, and preferably the tooltip too.
