Earth Hour - I hope you all support it.
On Saturday, March 29, 2008, Earth Hour invites people around the world to turn off their lights for one hour – from 8:00pm to 9:00pm in their local time zone. On this day, cities around the world, including Copenhagen, Chicago, Melbourne, Dubai, and Tel Aviv, will hold events to acknowledge their commitment to energy conservation.
I'll be doing my bit. I'll be driving to Canada this evening, so I'll be truning my headlights off between 8 and 9, I hope you all follow suit.

I'll be doing my bit between 9pm and 10pm instead because I believe DST is harmful to the environment.

So I did turn those lights off. But then I suddenly had to go to the bathroom. It was Mother Nature vs Call of Nature. Everyone knows who won.

Oh, the Canadian's aren't THAT bad!
Besides, I've got a gun and they don't. Although on the advice of an English friend who had visited Canada I kept it concealed as apparently they're not big into hand guns up here.
Mind you, this is the same friend who told me they drove on the wrong side of the road in Canada. So, not wanting to look like a tourist, as soon as I got passed the Canadians customs guards, I cut straight across the median between highway lanes and started driving on the left hand side of the road. It turns out my English friend was mistaken.
I have to say though, I was impressed by the Canadian cops, they speak excellent English considering they're foreigners. Our cops should learn more foreign languages.

See, that's funny because a lot of your cops are foreigners. A vicious cycle.

I turned off the lights for an hour. You could hardly notice with my 40" TV on and two computer monitors connected to 2 running computers, central heater sucking down gas and electric, and my 2 refrigerators and deep freeze cooler all going. I probably saved a whole .25% on my electric usage for that hour. Yeah Earth Hour!!!

You get a wooden box in the U.S ? I got nothing except a warning from a Police officer for trying the same headlights out stuff. Apparently Earth Hour doesn't extend to head lights . He did speak excellent English though proving conclusively he wasn't from South Australia or Utah.

I wasn't aware of this. But if someone told me we were all going to turn the lights of at some to make a point, to stick it to the man. I would have most likely turned on even more devices that use electricity. I take trolling seriously.

Re: Earth Hour - I hope you all support it.
My car is built in Canada and therefore I can't turn off the headlights ever when driving. You see, those daytime running light circuits in my car don't understand fad environmentalism.
