Does anybody know of a Windows 2000 version called "Release Candidate 2" about to be offered in Computer magazines FREE for about a whole year?????????
Will this version really be NT 5.0 and no longer a Win 9x???
Will it replace FAT 32 with NTFS (N T File System)???
Ah?

W2K RC2 is a beta version of W2K. This was followed up by RC3 a little later, and the final code was released to manufacturing a couple weeks ago -- it sounds kinda dumb, giving away a beta product for free though...
W2k was also supposed to be named NT5 a year or two ago, but they changed the name, but it is the next version of windows based on the NT kernel. The Win 9x line is a consumer windows line, and MS is not suggesting W2k for consumers, mostly for businesses. The consumers will have "WINDOWS MILLENIUM", released in 6-8 months from now....
W2k will support NTFS and FAT32.
