Yes, it's time for another great (and totally pointless) CyberSurfer thread!

This time, it's quotes from adverts. If this thread takes off, I'll know that there are at least some other people out there as sad as me!

    To kick off...

"What are you, some kind of sadist? Surely this woman deserves...."

    Cool

As soon as I've overcome the shock of someone replying to this post, I'll think about it.

There's a new IBM advert over here in the uk. There is this big board meeting becuase there system has gone down and it goes like this

The server suppliers say it's an application problem
The application developers say it's the database
The database people say it's the web developers
The web developers have gone snow boarding

I was laughing my head off when I first saw that advert as the amount of meetings I've been in and everyone is blaming everyone else why it isn't working instead of trying to work out why.

It's the man's version of the fiat bravo advert.

When I first saw that advert, I saw the woman's side to the story adn thought that it was to sexist to be alowed to be shown. It wasn't untill a couple of weeks later that I saw the blokes version and was on the floor with laughter.

Isn't it it a bit sad to be discussing adverts.

    Oh well

    Opal Fruits

(still called Opal Fruits in my book. None of this silly "Starburst" nonsence)

    I have a question:
Have you guys (Brits) seen any commercials or any other advertisements for the new Mini Cooper? I know that BMW has bought the rights of the Cooper, but it won't be available in the States until Spring 2002. I'm not sure what to think of the car. Any opinions would be appreciated.

It's an OK looking car. I still like the "traditional" looking Coopers. Those cars are impossible to find in the States. Maybe I'll get one in 2002. The starting price will be about $18,000.00 (US). The Cooper-S will be a little more.

Maybe I'll start a new thread dedicated to the Mini.

Is it just me, or is that Mini not as mini as it used to be?

OK there's this really dodgy UK advert right now advertising CentreParks (UK peeps'll know what I mean)... It has a load of squirrells and weird things like that...

They jump and then it freezes, and you see all the way round this squirrel in mid-air... interesting effects - but I know how squirrels and penguins are planning to take over the world - they haven't fooled me.

So are red squirrels like the gestapo? Don't see too many of them around, they tend to keep themselves hidden away. What about the different kinds of penguin? I mean, are they all involved? Just so I know what to look out for.

Mmm... all types of squirrells... but mainly red ones.
And penguins - it's all of them. I met one recently, he explained it all to me. Then I ate him.
