    Noob Section

I really feel that there should be a NOOB section of the forums whereby NOOBS(Including myself) can repeatedly ask really stupid and irritating questions about VB

MSDN is very hard to navigate and understand at the best of times in my view so when your starting out it would be nice to have a place to ask all those 'I really don't understand' questions

    Re: Noob Section

ClassicVB and VB.NET are the sections for questions regardless of how beginner like they may be.

Each and every one of us was, at some point, a noob and I don't think we need to segregate experience categories of our members.

If you think you have a question that has probably been asked before, then do a search for it. It probably has. However, there are many times when someone has a slightly different twist to an old question which requires a new approach, so, even if you think the question has been asked, ask it anyway. You may be approaching it from an angle no one has yet taken.

Sure but there are times that when you ask a question you may not either explain your question well or not get the answer you want and you feel that you've already irked people by asking the same question again - It was just a thought

    Re: Noob Section

I think if we separated the forums into beginner/non-beginner sections then people might not receive the same range of advice. Additionally, it would introduce a major subjective element to deciding which section to place a question in.

If you have a feeling that what you are about to post is a simple question and/or a question that's been asked many times before, here's what you do: SEARCH SOME MORE before you post.

    Re: Noob Section

Then we would have to have an intermediate section and an advanced section and where would it end?

All languages covered by this site, would of course, have to have all three sub sections.

Phew.....that would be interesting - NOT!

    Re: Noob Section

I could just picture it: 70% of all threads would get started in the beginner section, 29.9% would be started in the intermediate section, and the advanced section would consist of a single thread and a bunch of tumbleweeds.

In effect there already is an advanced section, and it's a ghost town.

IMHO that section has no purpose...
