Good morning.
I have a question. If I was to go out and by VB6 - Learning Edition, would I be able to compile and sell my apps? Is the Package and Deployment wizard included? Also, I only use the regular tools in my apps ie Progress Bar, Microsoft Tab control, and others. Are all of these tools available in the Learning Editon? I know that Database tools and other "extra" abilities are not included, but I just want to create simple apps. Can I do this with the Learning Edition?
I have an Academic Version of VB6 Professional, and I would like to know if I can do the same things I'm doing right now with the Learning Edition, and if need to upgrade later, to a commercial version of VB6 Pro.
If there are any reasons why I would not want to get the Learning Edition, please list them.
Thanks for your time in advance.

In the learning edition you are not able to sell your apps. Myself, when I bought it, becase I wasn't sure what I might do with it in the future, I spent the extra and got the Professional version. It's worth the money. Not only can you sell whatever you make, but there aren't restrictions on what controls you can use etc. I'm not sure if the Learning editon is restricted but I think that it is. But don't quote me on that part. :-) In my opion, the professional versoin is worth it.

Thanks NetSurfer,
I forgot to ask this in my original post: Can you distribute your apps for free with any version of VB specificly Learning Edition and any Academic version?

I'm not sure about the free distribution. I think that Microsofts licences try to strangle that as much as they can. If you can, read the License agreement for your academic version. You could also hits MS's home page and check on the product info.

Thanks again, NetSurfer.
I've been on MS's site and it has no info about the distribution stuff. I'll take a look at my license when I get home.
To all: Any other info would be greatly appreciated.
