Pocket PC or Smartphone
Hello,
I am planning on writing a program for a mobile device. The last mobile anything (other than a laptop) I had was a palm pilot with a palm OS that was about 5 years ago. So, I was hoping that someone could help me know which is more popular. The program I am going to write is targeted at age 20-40ish moms that have kids.
I would be grateful if anyone could help shed some light on which is used more by this demographic.
Thank you very much for your help.

By the way, I should note that I am not looking for documented marketing research, or anything like that. I don't want anyone to freak out. I am just looking for opinions, and/or if anyone has had any experience, or maybe even just gets out a lot and has noticed people in this demographic seem to carry one type or the other. Maybe, someone is a big fan of mobile devices and thinks one of them is the shiznit . That's all I am looking for.

Hi,
the vast majority of people using windows mobile devices, in my opion and experience, tend to be men.
One s/ware house I work for, only the guys have WM devices.
my 2 cents

My personal opinion is that you'll be lucky to find a market in that demographic. My experience could not be considered vast (though maybe half-vast), but I know of only one woman who has a PDA and kids, and one who has a PDA without kids. All of the other women I know not only don't have PDAs, they are not particularly interested in them, computers, or anything else electronic except for A/V stuff.

Depending on what you want to do, you might wanna try focusing on the mobile phone market instead - almost everyone has a cellphone these days.
