I'm developing a network admin application primarily using SNMP. One of the features I want to include is the ability to auto discover hosts on a network. I've seen this feature in lots of different networking tools but I'm not sure the best way to implement it. I originally thought it was based on pinging but what if a host has turned of icmp? Any help / thoughts would be appreciated!!
