-2147417848: 'Automation error The object invoked has disconnected from its clients.'

    Hi,

I have a custom 2-Tier/Fat client COM based application that is built
using VB 6.0 Service Pack 6 connecting to an MS SQL Server 2000 DB. The following error is reported 'periodically'/at times from client PCs.

The affected PCs are running Windows XP Service Pack 2 (only OS
installed at client site) but the issue is also reported on Windows
    2000 SP4 machines:

    Err. No: '-2147417848'
Err Desc: 'Automation error The object invoked has disconnected from
    its clients.'

I've confirmed the reasons provided in the following links aren't
causing this particular problem as reported here:

    (a). Q270589 BUG: Run-Time Error Message -2147417848 (80010108) When
    Passing Array of Dictionary Objects
    (b) Q192129 PRB: Run-Time Error '373' or '-2147417848(80010108)'

    (g) Q194912 FIX: Add Method of Forms Collection Fails in Executable
    (h) Q223080 FIX: ADODC Errors When RecordSet Property is set to NULL
    (i) Q223116 FIX: Public Type Statement Causes Application Error
    (j) Q223077 FIX: VB 6.0 Adding Split to a DataGrid May Cause Error

I'd appreciate any new ideas as to why this error is occurring.

    Thank you.

Also implemented the recommendations in the link below. This hasn't resolved the issue.
