ok, now it's in doubt.
Gore retracts his congratulary phone call. Votes have to be re-counted (difference of only 1200 votes in Florida, thats 1200!)
Looks like it's still on!

Just saw the thread title. Sorry, folks, but the fat lady
hasn't sung yet. 1700 vote differential with 10 times that
many absentee ballots do not a victory (necessarily) make.

I am still holding out for the recount in Florida. Bush is a simpering little twit. He speaks English worse than most Americans do (and that's pretty poorly).
I'm thinking of scoping out Australia for my next residence. Listening to Jethro has piqued my interest. I've never tried a Yalumba Signature or Cloudy Bay wine or a Swan (lite or otherwise) . I've lived a sheltered life I guess.

Luckily THAT facist b******* (Buchanon) can crawl back into
the cesspit he crawled (leaving a trail of slime) from. he
spent 12 million dollars for < 500,000 votes. Hell, I know
Alabama county sheriffs that can buy more than that...for a
LOT less than $12million.

Has that law been enforced lately or has it just been riding the books and ignored? Why would anyone allow their own government to legislate who they can marry anyway?

I agree
Hey, we all amke mistakes in our life. Now I criticised Clinton about the drug thing but for different reason. Clinton lied about it, got caught, and then lied again. Then the american people(not all) in their inifinite stupidity, elected him. I'm sorry to say Clinton has been the worst president in the history of our country. The only thing he has behind him is the prosperity of our country and that is even because of him. Our prosperity began before he was even in office. But what can you expect from a 2-bit con man. And gore is worse. He has lied and fluctuated on every issue throughout the campaign. At least Bush(both of them) Take responsibility for when they were wrong unlike Clinton/Gore. Hell, Gore even sell out his votes. Gore is SCUM!

Far as I know, it hasn't been enforced since 1967.
What kills me is that 545,000 voted to KEEP the law on the
books. This wasn't a mistake either. We had several
amendments to vote on and the results were markedly
different in each. ie: They voted that way because they
wanted to.
Welcome to 1984.

barrk don't worry we have plans in place.
With the likely upsurge in Americans seeking Political asylum in Australia, with have started constructing more refugee camps. Of course you will all have to go to Port Headland first, so we can be sure that you are really political refugees....don't worry they've cut it down to a five year turn around.
or
you could wait till next year when we have thrown out our facist government, then you could just come on over and move right in. Don't worry Bush's minders wont be able to find you, let's face facts he couldn't find his own ass with both hands.
Read the next thread l am starting....it's really funny....ok not to Republican party members

What makes you think I'm a yuppie?
Anyway, I'm no longer in the military and wouldn't even recommend it to anybody as long as Clinton/Gore are in office. Clinton, Hillary, and Gore are nothing but con men. They have a consistent record of dishonesty and deception through their whole administration. I can honestly say that this has been the worst administration ever. At least Bush has a record of doing what he says he wants to do and to be honest what he wants to do is probably what is best for the country at the time. Atleast when he is confronted with something he takes responsibility for his mistake instead of lying and making excuses for it. Now that I have gotten of track a bit, I was wrong about the absentee Ballot count, I missunderstood what CNN Said but bush is still up by about a 1000 vote(961 to be exact)

That was quite a while ago and different candidates, I'm talking strictly about Bush and Gore. Sorry to say Gore by far takes the cake as far and lying, deception, and total dishonesty. He may even be worse than clinton.

Seems a bit of a disconnect, since Bush (Jr.) has never had
a presidential administration, only a state one. and Gore
has never had a state administration. Can't have it both
ways.

J, your post of 11-13-2000 08:51 AM references the
Clinton/Gore administration as the most dishonest EVER.
This just is not so.
You then claim that "that was long ago"...yeah, long enough
ago so that the worst of the pain of seeing buddies get
clobbered while being somewhere they weren't is over. It
WASN'T that long ago.
Now it's: "This is strictly between Bush and Gore"...well,
Clinton seems to figure very prominently in all your
diatribes. Your Clinton hating roots are showing.
DerFarm
No, TD, this is not going to turn into a fight. This is my

not what I said
I didn't say they were the most dishonest although a case could be made for that. I said that it was the worst administration. There is a big difference in that statement.
Tumblingdown, this isn't a fight just a discussion on our disagreements. I think it is good to discuss these issues so that at the very least people come out with a strong understand of their stance on them.
I just find that most democrats never try to understand the truth behind the issues and stick to their party. I am making strictly a generalization of what I have found through my experience and I am not attempting to label anyone. But from the stances and what I have seen at the federal goverment level the Democratic party have been taking a socialistic stance on their issues. They have made great stride on taking away our right through time and it has been such a gradual thing the the general public does not even notice. Now Gore wants to take guns away from the public. what will this solve. It wll only make things worse. now the american population will be completely defenceless to the criminal element who will still have guns. This is wrong. It is our constitutional right. But then again that party has redifined most of what the constitution say anyway.
