I just read on a website somewhere (doesn't matter where) that 'A state law in Virginia requires 60 seconds of silence before the start of classes in all public schools'. Is this true?

That's bad. Although marginally better than not being allowed to teach Darwin's Theory of Evolution which is now accepted as fact, in Tennessee (or something). Why they do this, on religious grounds is beyond me.
I refuse to tie my hands behind my back and hear somebody say "Bend Over, Boy, Because You Have It Coming To You".
