Fixed Disk Crap, please help.

How would one go about finding out how to get the freespace on a Specific drive, as well as the Total Space. Also, how can i find out if the users CD-Rom is a Normal CD-ROM, DVD, CD-R, or CD-RW?.. and if possible, the speed. Please help! Any help will be greatful.
