    Is there a way of forcing ADO to recognise linked tables in access databases?

    force ADO to recognize?

    i don't think so! you as a developer shoud be aware and shoud know the relationships between tables.

    when i say linked tables, i mean tables that are links to another databse, usually created by going file->Get External Data->Link Tables...
