    1st of all,

How old you do have to be to drink alcohol in ireland?
where are all the good bars/pubs in ireland?
if any of you live in ireland... where???

I am asking this because I may take a trip to ireland over the summer,

where is dublin, N. Ireland, or just Ireland??

and where is the best place to visit?(IE: More traditional, etc.)

    I know if I go to N. Ireland, I'll be in the UK(NOOOOOOOO!!!! )

    thanks,
    Dennis

Legal age for drinking is 18 in Ireland I think. Dublin is in the Republic. I know a guy who lives there, seems to be plenty of good nightlife, but from what I've heard there's a lot of crime around there. It's a nice place though

Dublin is in the Republic, about half way p the east cost. Belfast is the capital of N.Ireland (a very, very interesting place - well worth the visit).

Good places to drink - in Dublin, Temple Bar, which is a street near the Liffey. Also, consider going to Galway (on the west coast), cos it's a student town, and it absolutely rocks.

Nice places to visit - The CLiffs of Moher are spectacular (south of Glaway in Co. Clare), the Antrim road in Northern Ireland, the Dingle peninsula (south west tip), Killarney national park (hire a bike in Killarney, ride to Ross Castle, then pop your bike in one of the boats and sail up to the Upper Lake, then ride through the Gap of Dunloe back to Killarney. On a nice day, it is spectacular. Probably my favourite place in Ireland. Done the trip twice (on each of my Irish visits).

For the traditional irish music, Doolin in co.clare is pretty good, although a bit touristy.

And the Aran Islands (off the coast of Galway) are also fantastic.

Hope you're over there for a good two weeks, cos you'll need it.
