Upgrading WinXP HE to WinXP Professional
Here is the situation:
A desktop PC, quite new, with a 145 GB Hard Drive. Unpartitioned. Yes, unpartitioned, so you only have C drive.
It currently runs Windows XP Home Edition.
My question: Should I partition it into two/three drives before upgrading to Professional, or afterwards?

Re: Upgrading WinXP HE to WinXP Professional
Why do you want to keep XP Home? You could just update directly.
If you want to partition, then you will need a third party tool, like Partitiion Magic, which can partition on the fly.
If you want to format the drive, you can partition it through the installtion process, and convert it to NTFS (which you can also do without a format)
I suggest just installing XP Pro over Home, and getting rid of XP Home.

Yes, that's what I meant... upgrading to XP home. I don't think my post was very clear, but you ended up answering both my questions.
