creating a new server registration

im learning sql server7 at the moment and have tried to create a new server which i successfully create but soon as i connect to it it wants my sql server user name and password?? but i did not create one for it
i have a list of other servers in enterprise manager that i can connect to with no problems??? so what am i doing wrong
any ideas

Try using the user "sa" with no password. That's the default. You will, of course, want to change the password and, maybe, add other users.
