[RESOLVED] unable to deploy in pocket pc[RESOLVED]

hi...
i want to deploy my project in the pocket pc...i build the cab file already, but still i cannot deploy..and i have the ezsetup.exe but i cannot run or open it...
anyone knw why i cannot run the application in my pocket pc....?
and how to create the exe file?

look here for how to resolve issue on how to deploy device.

Basically if you have installed activesync after visual studio you will need reinstall visual studio to correct the registry settings.



cab file is an installer for the pocket pc.... so you need to copy this file to the device manually over activesync

if there are issues running the application on the device make sure you have the latest Compact framework redistribution pack installed on the pocket pc..

I am still unable to deploy into the pocketpc.... i am connected to the device but i have deployment error....
and the output shows :

sharing violation means the exe is already running on the device from a previous time. try a hard reboot of the device

jus wanted to knw. wat does hard rebooting of the device, is it jus switching it off and oning it back again?

no you need to reset it, therefore all settings, programs, are lost are you are left with what was originally on the device when you got it.

generally to perform a reset, they maybe a little button that can only be reached by a paper clip. or else remove the battery as this will reset the device too.

Reseting the device will reset all programs etc back to the original state as when the device was shipped

what is suggest is deploying to the emulator. this will keep your pocket pc clear of debugging until you have a final product. please look at the other "unable to deploy post" for what you need to get the pocket pc 2003 emulator functional. with the emulator it is like have a fresh pocket pc to deploy to every time.
