Please help :: TELNET / FTP.........

Hi,

I'm logging into my account on my friends FTP server and wish to transfer an entire folder (directory) using the mput, put or send telnet commands.
My local path is set to my Desktop and I have put the folder I wish to transfer on my desktop.
However, whenever I try to send the file I get the error message of:

"Error while opening file"

Could some knowledgeable folk look at the attached picture and tell me how to send folders using telnet to the wwwroot directory on the ftp server?
What am I doing wrong?

PS: For security, the server IP, password and username have been censored in the picture

Put

Drag the file that you want to upload into command prompt and it should give the path. Hit enter and type the name you want the file to be.

why dont you just get a FTP program like SmartFTP. real simple, and great interface

You need to type in the full path for it to work. I.e: "C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\My Documents\directory\"

but he typed "lcd desktop" which he should not need to type the whole file location then

Just providing an alternative to ALL's suggestion. I didn't know about it until someone told me about it (I think it was Noteme). When I was using command-line ftp, I would always zip the files, and Unix could unzip them.
