windows me's internet explorer 5.5 seems to bugger up other ms applications. after installing windows me i installed ms office 200 premium. and when i rebooted the pc gues what happend?

(on my machine): "winword has cause an illegal operation in... explorer.exe" and so i gave up and reinstalled windows 98.

(on my friend's machine): "explorer.exe has cuased an illegal operation in.. " when she tries to access the control panel.

damned internet explorer. r there n e good browsers out there that doesn't integrate so damned closely with the os?!? NOT NETSCAPE, 'cause it crashes more times then IE. i'm currently using Opera 4.2, but it's a little undeveloped.

why does MS have to %^&* up everything they make?! IE was alright until they tried the stupid integration trick to try to beat Netscape.

the other thing is, when IE crashes the OS desktop crashes as well... yes i have tried to option "run browser in seperate process", but it doesn't help if IE crashes while initializing... the OS strill goes down.
