image cutter tool needed!

hello folks,

i was just wondering if you guys have some nice image cutter tool. I basically need something that let me cut the image into many pieced (rectangles) so i can implement "changing images when mouse over" & etc.

what i mean is to cut the image so after putting it together it looks like one entity although it is not, if you know what i mean. i could do it manually but it is a pain.

i looked for something like that and could not find anything.

please help.
