    Hi all,

correct me if I am wrong but there are only 3 browsers on the market

    IE
    Netscape and
    Neoplanet.

A friend said that Sun systems made a browser as well.

What is your favourite, and why, and where can I download any *other* browsers ?

    cheers

    ~Ben

I think Sun's browser is made with Java,
I downloaded it once.... but I like IE a lot better than netscape, I had netscape 4.7 and netscape 6, 4.7 workeed just fine, but ver 6 kept crashing....

Neoplanet isn't really a browser by itself. It uses IE or Netscapes rendering engine. Opera is a nice little browser compared to IE and Netscape (except for 6 which isnt too bad a download) and Opera is very standards complient.
Netscape 6 seems to be 100% standards compilent but it is still beta level software at best. It doesnt crash on me but it does take forever to start up.
Microsoft is easily winning the browser wars, due simply to the fact that Windows comes on something like 90% of desktop PCs and IE is included with any version of Windows (pending the outcome of the whole antitrust stuff).
If Microsoft follows Netscapes lead and makes the next version of their browser fully standards complient web devolopers really shouldn't need to worry about what browser people are using.
Until of course thinkgs like Palm Pilots hit it real big and you have to start designing for a screen that is a few inches big.

speaking of other browsers theres 206 matches at download.com:

Netscape Communicator and Lynx are shipped with Linux. Lynx is a text based browser, sometimes fun. But most of the time Lynx is kinda crappy.
