    Question

    What are these java bean things?

    Are they similar to a applet?

    I was reading a book today about java and it was explaining what java beans were...or it tried....it started off explaining java beans,then the author was rambling something about Visual basic and how object oriented it is..and he never finished explaining.

    From partial explanations I have gotten, JavaBeans would be the same idea as ActiveX to VB, they would seem to allow you to pack up a control or unit, and insert them into other projects (I am still confused, because I keep thinking why no just create a "Package")

    but I think it has similar characteristics as ActiveX Controls (which is probally why the author mentioned visual basic)
