Stupendously Slow Server

Sometimes the VB-World server doesn't just slow down, it stops and does nothing for about 5 minutes...can we have it fixed, please?

a few minutes ago it was going so slow I thought I was actually going backwards....

I have this problem also sometimes.

Yeah, this especially sucks when you want to edit a post and than you get to the edit page, edit it, and click the Submit Reply button. (Process in between here: 3+ minutes) Than when you get back to the page, it says that it was edited . Not that it's a problem, but you usually want to edit it and get it fixed before the person actually sees the code.

I thought it was just me, thought it was my ISP which was slow. A free isp can be really crappy, but it works . But I'm glad its not just me.

But than again...(hehe)...it could be that there are a lot of people on this message board and that could be pressing Submit Reply all at once .

I presume you're talking about the actual VB-World.net server (not forums.vb-world.net, which resides on a seperate server). We're aware of the performance issues on the VB-World.net server, and I'm working to shift the load onto the newer (and more powerful) forums.vb-world.net server.

We are working on improving the performance of our servers. In the long run, this will probably involve upgrading to better hardware.
