Data / Crystal Reports Running Sl. No.

Hi All

I'm having working with VB6 and Data Reports. I've sucessfully completed coding in vb and have developed reports using Data Reports.

Now, I want to have a running serial number field in the Data Reports detail section. I want the field to increment automatically for every record. and should restart for every group.

How can I do this?

If anyody can suggest this even for Crystal Reports please do. I'm willing to change my reporting tools to Crystal Reports

Crystal gives you so many more options. For instance, it contains Running Total fields that let you Count, Sum, Avg, Min, Max, Nth Largest etc. There are several options available each for when to Evaluate and Reset the running total field.

Note: It may depend on your version of Crystal.
