WMI failures.
Has anyone been getting consistent WMI failures on XP Pro? I have no clue what is causing it (looked around at MS...tried the fixes but they didn't work).
I keep getting the "application has encountered an error and needs to close" box. But the lamest part is when Explorer's CPU usage goes right up to 100% constantly once WMI fails...
Anyone? BTW this is a fresh installation....3 days old. All updates applied.

Have you noticed something like this...Without any reason even if your computer is idel you can see some activity.
Like your cursor gets busy icon for second or two and then gets back to normal. Also try to find out what program causes this error.
I am trying to search why I am getting busy cursors every 5 minutes. But I never got WMI error of what you are describing.
Cheers.

This is different...
Windows has a lot of background tasks that it performs at intermittent intervals.
I'm talking about constant 100% CPU use.
