JDBC extensions *resolved*
Hey there!
I'm trying to access a mysql database via JDBC from a JSP page. To do this I downloaded the mysql JDBC connector. I now have a jar file that I must copy somewhere, but I don't know where. I think by now I have about 8 copies of the file in various directories of my SDK, JRE and Tomcat. But the loading (as shown in the connector readme) still doesn't work.
Can anyone help me?
Code:
Driver d = (Driver)Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance();
// ClassNotFoundException

Problem resolved, I had to restart the webserver to make it recognize the classes .
Now it gives me permission problems, but I'll see if I can resolve that for myself for now.

BTW, the article is a little bit outdated, it still uses the old package name of the mysql driver.
Useful anyway, thanks.
