How does Cold Fusion compare to ASP? A colleague says that
it is the way to go.

Well, I think ASP is better before it supports Components while Cold fusion isn't.
The components open you way more capabilities than just customed tags.

I know very little about Cold Fusion but there is a sample forum on http://www.irt.org written in Cold Fusion and it looks very straight-forward for accessing databases...
So I suppose it all depends what you want to do with it.

I have tried Cold Fusion before and it seems powerful. I even used Crystal Report of Seagate to integrate with my application. Aside from that Cold Fusion is very easy to learn especially with their custom tags. I haven't tried ASP, so I don't know which one is better.
