I know the method for changing a form into an mdichild form is to changed it's mdichild property to true, but is there any way to make a regular form an mdiparent?
i dont want to have to copy everything from this window over to a new parent window...

I don't think so. But you could add a new MDI form an name it to the same as your form, so that copying wouldn't be too tricky.
