Bad VB.NET installation...
My Visual Studio.NET installs fine, and everything looks fine. When I go to open VB.NET, I get a DOS-looking screen that says "minidump application" and then an error screen (the one where you can report the error) and the error says "An unhandled exception has been caught by the VSW exception filter." Then the app restarts. I have reinstalled, and am using Windows 2000. C++ & C# seem to work fine, but VB.NET will not start.
I search the internet in general, as well as Microsoft, and found nothing on this.
Thanks!
Ed

MS speaks of a problem with that error message that will occur if you have a specific MERANT PVCS Version Manager software installed. VS apparently works if you unregister one of that programs dll's (ifc_com.dll), but that app would not like that of course. MS suggests contacting MERANT for a solution to this problem if this is your case.....
