is there any way?
Hi everybody,
I have two O/S installed on my computer - win 98 and win 2000
I have to many things installed on win 98 , as a result it start crashing frequently. Is there any way by which I can install freash copy of win98 after removing win 98 completely fro my system without removing win2000.

If you reinstall windows98 it might overwrite your boot loader ...

check the root folder of your hard drive for a file called system.1st
if it exists follow this procedure
dir /ah
attrib system.1st -s -h -r
go into win98 folder and
attrib system.dat -s -h -r
ren system.dat system.bak
copy c:\system.1st system.dat
this should take your win98 system back to the driver installation point when you first set up windows
- hope this helps =)
NB - system.1st is a hidden system file
