Peoples thoughts on my Website design.
G'day Guys
I'm going to make myself a website, and this time I'm planning on doing it right.. (well as right as can be)
I've knocked up a design that I was planning on use for all my pages and I wanted to see what you guys thought of it.
Be honest, as I'm opened to changing it around. I don't want to get the whole site up and then find people don't like it so.
Its in zip format as I haven't found a place to host it yet.
(A Thread in General PC is to do with this issue)
Anyway thanks in Advance.

I'm not much of a graphics person, on my previous sites, I would only create 3-4 images, and the rest would be text, and images from other places.
I'll see what I can do about that though.

sorry mate. The blue on black just does not go. Its way too hard to read. black backgrounds also don't cut it. try lighter colors. ubunreal69 suggest the use of pictures for the links, but I don't think thats necessary. You can attchieve some realy awesome effects using scripting, plus it increases download speed.
Have you ever seen those sites that have rollover links that use pictures. The page downloads the initial pic. When you mouse over, there is script that changes the pic. So you mouse over and the link changes from nice picture, to empty block while the other pic is downloading. Not cool.

I've changed the link colours to Grey on my version on my comp, which makes them clearer, and with the Red mouseover, there hard to miss.
And with the images.... As I said, I can't go images for crap, I'm a text man for that reason. It took me a while to do those images alone, and I was planning on including the colour scheme with that of my apps. (well in the about section atleast....).
Don't worry I'm not bothered about you guys being "mean" or anything, as my goal is to create a site which is comfortable for users.
(Its best viewed in 1000X700, but you can view it in 800X600 just fine)

After looking at it... maybe I should dull the Red in the Images?
I want to keep the Flame... well I'll have to check out what else the program has.

Its abit of a conflicting site... on one hand its aimed at my friends, and the other, its aimed at Downloaders of my Programs.
Downloaders = Fancy Business Design, Bright colours
Friends = the opposite.

This is just my opinion.. but the page just scrolls off the bottom at 1042x768... which I think is a bit messy.. but thats just me.. As for the colours.. the Blue and Black is really bad on the eyes and hard to read in some cases (if the monitor is small and running at a different resolution)... Those are my only comments so far.. If I think of any others I will post
