File I/O with IIS webclass.....

Is it possible to use a simple...

Open file for input as Fileno

in a webclass. I'm trying to access a text file in a webclass using "Line input #FileNo, newline". Works fine in VB IDE but when run in compiled mode on another machine, I don't get any output. Is this possible with a webclass or can I do database only?
