    Re-referencing web service in IIS

We had to uninstall/reinstall IIS on my development machine because because it suddenly stopped working (couldn't get to the management console through Administrative Tools). Anyway, when we brought it back up my web services folders were there but were now just folder icons rather than the opened box icon. Upon trying to re-reference them I get an error. How can I "register" the web service as a web folder again?

Delete the web folder in the IIS Management Console. Then create a new Virtual Directory to the same path.

It won't delete the original files, but if you're playing safe, just go to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot and make a backup of the folder before the take the steps above.
