Animated GIFs - any good software?

How do people build them animated GIFs where text fades in or zooms around etc? - Surely not one frame at a time?

Macromedia Flash can export to GIF, IIRC.

    Get these: Mozilla Opera OpenBSD
I have books for sale: "MCSD in a Nutshell" and "VB Distributed Exam Cram" - PM me for details. Will also trade for a decent ATX Pentium 2 MB/CPU/RAM combo.

    I agree with Josh,

    Flash is the best!

There's a lot of different export settings!

    Easy to use too!

Flash would be what to use for this. If it's just general GIF animation try fireworks

    WHAT'S THE FORUM AGAIN, JELLO?

BTW, Adobe ImageReady can do animated GIFs, IMHO much better than Flash since Flash and ImageReady are designed for different purposes in mind...

GIFConstruction set is pretty cool, and there are a couple of cool littlee utilities round on tucows that might do what you want

Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.

Ulead Gif Animator looks good...approx $100 AUD...so that would be about $55 US....

older versions of Ulead tend to float about for little or no charge. I think my dad got an old version free with a magazine a couple of years ago...
